美しい海に浮かぶ沖縄県・新城島は、
数多くのタブーが存在する禁断の島と言われている。
御嶽（うたき）と呼ばれる撮影禁止、入ることも許されない人魚神社……
島民以外は参加することが許されない謎の儀式。
島民も鳥居の奥に何があるか、中で何が行われるのか、決して語ってはならない。
万が一、掟に背き無断で中に入ってしまったら、その人間に災いが降りかかり、
原因不明の体調不良で苦しみ、死に至る者もいるという……。
